1. What this site is
MileageRates.com publishes general reference information about government mileage and per-kilometre rates, plus calculators that apply those published rates to numbers you enter. The site is informational only.
2. No professional advice
Nothing on this site is tax, legal, accounting or financial advice, and nothing here creates a professional–client relationship. Tax outcomes depend on facts we don't know about you. Before filing a return, setting a payroll policy, or making any decision with financial consequences, verify the figures against the official source documents linked on each page or consult a qualified professional licensed in your jurisdiction.
3. Accuracy, and its limits
We verify every rate against primary government sources and date that verification on each page. We still can't promise the site is error-free or current at the moment you read it — governments change rates, occasionally retroactively, and mistakes are possible. The site and its calculators are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
4. Calculators
Calculator output is an arithmetic estimate based on the published rates and the numbers you enter. It does not determine whether a trip qualifies as business travel, whether a method is available to you, or any other eligibility question. You are responsible for what you submit to any tax authority or employer.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MileageRates.com and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, savings, data or goodwill, arising from or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the site, its content or its calculators — including reliance on any figure published here — even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the site, which is zero. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; in that case liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted.
6. Advertising and third-party content
The site displays advertising served by third parties (currently Google AdSense) and may contain clearly marked affiliate links — see the disclaimer and disclosures page. Advertisements and external websites are the responsibility of their providers; a link or an ad is not an endorsement, and we are not a party to any transaction between you and an advertiser or linked site.
7. Intellectual property
The site's original text, design and code are © MileageRates.com. The underlying government rates and official documents are public information belonging to their respective governments. You may quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link; you may not republish substantial portions of the site or present them as your own.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the site unlawfully, attempt to disrupt it, misrepresent its content, or engage in fraudulent interaction with the advertising displayed on it.
9. Changes
We may update the site and these terms; the effective date above changes when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the site's operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer law in your place of residence provides otherwise.
